NASCAR's TV game may finally be turning around, if ESPN's ratings from Sunday's Michigan 400 are good indication – up slightly from 2008, with a 4.1 rating, up from last year's 3.9.
That means Brian Vickers' win was seen by an average of 5.6 million viewers.
After two Monday rain-delayed Cup races, NASCAR finally got the deal done Sunday on schedule.
ESPN kicked off its half of the Sprint Cup tour with a 4.8 rating for the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis.
Saturday's Nationwide race from Michigan was also up slightly from 2008: Brad Keselowski's win over Vickers and Kyle Busch pulled a 1.4 final national household rating, averaging 1.6 million viewers. Last year's race pulled only a 1.3, following a 1.2 in 2007.
